How is Brain Drill going to make their mark known? One word: "Speed."
![]() In a surprising move earlier last year, Metal Blade Records signed brutal death/grind band Brain Drill, from the mountains of Santa Cruz, CA. The band’s first full-length, titled "Apocalyptic Feasting" (due out 02/05/08) has all the tracks from their previous MCD called "The Parasites" as well as a few new ones. Here is the track listing for the full-length: 01. Gorification 02. The Parasites 03. Apocalyptic Feasting 04. Swine Slaughter 05. Forcefed Human Shit 06. Consumed By The Dead 07. Revelation 08. Bury The Living 09. The Depths Of Darkness 10. Sadistic Abductive The title track is currently available for download here . Here's a video of the band performing said song on November 24th, 2007 @ the Kennel Club in Sacramento, CA:
We’re excited about the promise of a full-length, as my review gave the MCD a pretty good score of a 7.8, despite it being only nineteen minutes long. Here’s an excerpt: “[Brain Drill] doesn't fuck around with a meathead persona. The unfair, but accurate, way to describe this band is Spawn Of Possession meets Beneath The Massacre without the breakdowns. Melodies are catchy in typical death metal style, playing technically proficient and brutality is high. The band's sound tends to point more toward European death styles, such as Swedish and Polish, because of the ear for melodic death metal playing and the relentless brutality of acts such as Behemoth and Aeon.” Brain Drill can’t be happier about how the full-length turned out. The band recently commented to us this: “We are stoked with the way the new album came out, and I think people will be happy once they have the finished product in their hands. Fans and new listeners can expect more of the same style like the other songs on our MySpace.”
