I am please to see that Phoenix, AZ now has an energetic Technical Death Metal band now in their repertoire. The mighty Viraemia will be easily eaten up by fans of Brain Drill, The Faceless, and Burning the Masses. There are plenty of breakdown, bass drop, and gravity blast formulas for me to hate on this 19 minute EP but I just can't this time around. I think they pull off their genre better than any of their peers. Yes the cliches are clearly prevalent but while jamming their self-titled EP I was too busy with it's infectious fun factor to notice. Who wouldn't want to jam a 10 string bass being shredded to pieces? Get ready to blow out your car subwoofers! If you are looking for best-of-the-best new school Tech Death with the minimalist of fat, you've found a winner.
