With the release of our Mecha Organa compilation, it's fairly obvious artists are creating sweet, original tunes without the help of any professional music executive. About.com posted a good read back in February called "What Digital Downloads Mean For The Aesthetics Of Metal." Though it's apparent Metal has always been successful in the underground, even the Metal veterans are forced to uncomfortably keep up to stay afloat. Musicians like Gary Holt (EXODUS) and Chris Barnes (SIX FEET UNDER) can't seem to find a fan with an album to autograph these days.

Just yesterday, The New York Times attempted to tackle the current status of the general music industry. It seems RADIOHEAD manager Brian Message is reinventing the record deal model for a project called "Polyphonic." Even for a small online music community like us, This seemingly is a good sign. Our love of music will never been unhinged not matter how shallow our pockets might be. If you are an unsigned band and are looking to get a one-up there are plenty of resources to take advantage of. Make it in Music blogs about great tips and finds common ground from the industry side of the tracks. There is also a Free Music Video giveaway contest being held by our sisters at MetalInjection.net.
