We've had a little over a month on to absorb Protest the Hero's sophomore album Fortress.  What a torch it's holding! Fortress is becoming highly acclaimed by fans and critics alike.  Among other positions peaked at number 1 on Canadian album charts.  Like other modern prog peers such as Between the Buried and Me and Fall of Troy, Protest the Hero is pushing Technical Music into the rock foreground.

Fortress was released January 22nd, 2008 and features the following:

01. Bloodmeat - 3:54
02. The Dissentience - 4:23
03. Bone Marrow - 5:30
04. Sequoia Throne - 3:11
05. Palms Read - 5:06
06. Limb from Limb - 4:22
07. Spoils - 3:43
08. Wretch - 4:12
09. Goddess Bound - 3:35
10. Goddess Gagged - 3:14

Fortress pushes clean vocals, clean guitar tones, and plenty of melodies.  At the same time it pushes aggressively fast placed hooks.  Not surprisingly power metal madman Vadim Pruzhanov wanted something to do with this band.  The Dragonforce keyboardist can be heard the song 'Limb From Limb'.
