Sure, most people who go to 420 probably get stoned every day, but 420 isn't about showing off how much of a stoner you are. Smoking at 420 is an act of protest against prohibition of marijuana, the best way to protest against such laws is to actively smoke pot in public routinely in sufficient numbers to have an impact. In my town 420 is quite an active culture, today for example there was abput 200 people smoking pot in the centre of town, making it logistically near-impossible for the police to prosecute. I think its a great way of getting the messge out there.
