Yeah man, the news are so old it's ridiculous too.

This is like the 3rd topic haha. I'm guessing it's the article's fault for not displaying any of the topics as discussion about the article.

But anyways, I can barely wait myself. "Evolutionary Sleeper" is great stuff.

it seems like Paul Masvidal has matured a lot. He's clean vocals are a thousand times better since 1993. Doubt it will happen ...but I can only hope Cynic will pull an "opethdamnation" and make an album without metal.

It's been an extremely long time since 1993. There's no way they can live up to the magic that once was. I only hope they've grown in a direction that will be very refreshing. I have faith the new album will be an awesome album regardless if it's Cynic or not. Theoretically If their "progressive ideals" have been quietly self reflecting for 15 years something good has got to come out of it.

Masvidal has been involved in a few progressive projects since Cynic broke up (Portal, Aeon Spoke), but i read in a statement he made to the press that he was interested in experimenting with death metal again. It should be an interesting album, im looking foward to hearing Cynic with modern album recording/production. Does any one know the line up?

I dont remember where I've heard this from but I believe he's a music professor of some sort
