The Apparatus

so i've been writing and playing my own material for almost 2 years now because i've moved away from anything remotely close to a "music scene". Simply put, there are just zero like minded musicians in my area. So, i was thinking about it and i came to a conclusion.. Does anybody wanna start an online band? Sending things back and forth, recording they're own part and adding new ideas to the project. I think the end result would be pretty interesting. If anyone has any interest in doing this or has any questions let me know. Interesting Idea. Could become a bit of a clusterfuck, but interesting nonetheless. I've been writing my own shit for years, but I'd rather save for ma band....

An even better idea would be if EVERYONE was involved.

There's enough people on this board that could help with every aspect from all the instruments to artwork to distribution. If I had any sort of considerable talent, I'd throw down, but I can tell you that I'd listen to anything put together and help in any way I can.

i'm sure some of the best musicians in the country are on these forums. don't be shy =D i think it would be pretty amazing if everyone was involved but i would have no idea how to organize that. any ideas?

If you want, I'll try to come up with a "game plan" and pass it by you guys so we can render it down to something that will work for everyone.

I'd say record and post a little something that you'd like to base the song off of, and if someone on here has any ideas with that, they can take it and add on, or even message you and ask you to change things slightly to work with whatever they're going for. Then just post each new phase of the project as it goes on so other people could contribute as they see fit. Exchanging IM info and all that wouldn't be a terrible idea either.

What is something universal that all of us can work out of? Mac/Win application-wise

If anyone knows of any other services, let me know. I'm willing to pay a monthly fee to have everything organized (everyone sending files back and forth will cause a massive clusterfuck imo)
