Dude, these bands are not alike.

The Acacia Strain plays technical brutal death metal, and Emmure plays crusty blackened death/grind - quite easily the heaviest in the genre. Either way, Emmure certainly didn't 'rip off' The Acacia Strain. Each band are pushing the musical envelope in their own unique way.

yeah i'm not sure if your joking or not....i havent heard anything technical from acacia strain and they are def. not death metal...deathcore maybe

And there is nothing crusty about emmure just more deathcore/hardcore/whatever/boring as fuck

I'm going to have to disagree. It seems evident and I believe I can convince you that i)The Acacia strain plays technical brutal death metal ii) Emmure plays crusty blackened death metal.

Let's break it down: rofl

The Acacia Strain is distinguished by the complexity of their music. Common traits are abruptly changing, sometimes chaotic song structures, uncommon time signatures, atypical rhythms and unusual harmonies and melodies. Also, they not only focus on speed and aggression but also incorporate technical and progressive elements.

Meanwhile, Emmure is a fusion of death metal mixing the intensity, speed, and brevity of grindcore with the complexity of death metal. It's also kinda like sped-up, more dissonant, crust punk, only blackened, deathed, ground, and crusty minced.

As I said, both of these amazing bands are pushing the musical envelope forward in ways that their peers could only dream of.

Dude, Emmure went back in time, invented crust punk, came back to the future, and they now play it. They did this because they needed to plant the seed for the massive worldwide popularity of crust punk that is currently dominating the music industry. They are now reaping the benefits of playing pure, unbridled crusty blackened death/grind .

really?

cause i thought the whole chug chug-a-lug weee weeee chug ......chug...............chug chug........weeeee
thing has been going on for a while now.

i dont think either of these bands are recreating or contributing any amount of innovative creativity to any genre at all.

and i think these peers you speak of are a bit heavy on needle drugs.

most i give emmure credit for is maaaaaaybe mixing genres . but still...thats like pre-school musical fundamentals.

Reality is, you're really scraping the barrel is you think either band is anything special at all.

Actually, chazbell is spot on there.

And I would like to add, it is theirmastery of the universe that allows them to travel time. I mean transcend time. To plant the seeds of crusty blackened death/grind of the future in the past. QED.
