Modern composers 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago  
Sure, everyone likes the Mozarts and Bachs, but I've been looking for some good modern composers. As of the moment the only ones I actually listen to are Yann Tiersen and Yeong-wook Jo.

Check them out.

Yann Tiersen wrote the score to Amelie and has his own albums out, Le Phare is my favourite.

And Yeong-wook Jo wrote the score to the film Oldboy.


Any other suggestions?


Don't say Hans Zimmer.

pretty huge fan of:

howard shore (david cronenberg's flicks, LOTR trilogy)

brad fiedel (terminator, t2, fright night, just before dawn)

jan hammer (miami vice, cocaine cowboys)

i dig these because they not only have great textures, but stand by themselves as competent music.

philip glass- I might get jumped on here because is lightly liked to artistic minimalism, but its more repetitive building structures

most good film composers, i've found, embrace minimalism with tactful build. glass is legit.

I won't openly admit it but I envy your flawless dance moves. Hardcore inferiority slaps me in the face when you mosh me by. Why wasn't I moshing? Because you were. Standing on the sidelines, I'm the runt of the crew when it comes to ill moves.
