Canadian trio RUSH, which hasn't performed on U.S. television in more than three decades, played its classic "Tom Sawyer" and took part in an interview last night (Wednesday, July 16) on the Comedy Central show "The Colbert Report". The Geddy Lee-fronted band, which is currently on tour, hadn't played on U.S. television since 1975.

Tasmanian tech-death masters, PSYCROPTIC, have officially announced the title of their follow-up to 2006's "Symbols of Failure." "Ob(Servant)," the band's first album for Nuclear Blast Records and fourth overall, will be released sometime in the Fall of 2008. "Ob(Servant)" was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and recorded once again by guitarist Joe Haley. Stéphane Paré (vocals), Yanic Bercier (drums) and Dominic "Forest" Lapointe (bass) of the Montreal-based technical death metallers QUO VADIS have announced their departure from the band. In a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Paré explained, "As of today, July 13th, we are officially leaving the band for various reasons. As for the shows that are already booked, we are still going to perform as agreed, on a professional basis.
