"Midheaven", the sophomore full-length CD from the Los Angeles-based technical progressive metal band THE HUMAN ABSTRACT, is available for streaming in its entirety on the group's MySpace page.

Released today (August 19) via Hopeless Records, "Midheaven" "follows a full cycle of man while he makes his ascent and discoveries and is eventually brought down by his lust of conquest and greed," says the band's vocalist, Nathan Ells. "Basically we wanted to have this album be cohesive all the way through. We came up with themes for each song and then wrote the songs like we were doing a film score and try to capture the mood musically for what each theme represents."

Although the initial sessions for "Midheaven" were helmed by veteran producer Toby Wright (METALLICA, SLAYER, ALICE IN CHAINS, SOULFLY, FEAR FACTORY), the CD was completed with a different producer and Wright's name was "wiped off all credits," according to drummer Brett Powell.

"Midheaven" tracklisting:

01. A Violent Strike
02. Procession Of The Fates
03. Breathing Life Into Devices
04. This World Is A Tomb
05. Metanoia
06. The Path
07. Echoes Of The Spirit
08. Calm In The Chaos
09. Counting Down The Days
10. A Dead World At Sunrise

THE HUMAN ABSTRACT recently released a four-song EP exclusively via Hot Topic stores. The CD features the following tracks:

01. Counting Down The Days
02. Echoes Of The Spirit
03. Vela, Together We Await the Storm (Remix by Tim Lambesis)
04. Vela, Together We Await the Storm (Video Remix)

THE HUMAN ABSTRACT's Hopeless Records debut, "Nocturne", was released in August 2006.
